Those buttons could be very special. They definately look like 2 piece 1800s buttons. Please get some close up pictures or tell us if there is any designs on them. Or any backmarks

There are designs on some of them, one looks like dots forming a flower, another is completely dotted, a couple are shaped like gem cuts...I'll have to do some cleaning to get good pics, but I'll try and see if I can get better pics.

They seem to have all been black.. Can't see any backmark at all. But here are some better pics.

I know its difficult to get good pictures. But those buttons are definately old. 1850-early 1900s is my guess. Hard to date buttons exactly without a backmark. Weird they were all in one hole.
 

I found a dime, then went over the hole avian and still hit... Just made 1 cut to the hole and they all just dropped into th center of the hole
