There seems to be quite a bit of Civil War Era Treasure that still has not been recovered silver and gold hidden at the first word that Sherman was on his way in to raid all home places take their valuables and burn all buildings . Now I have heard many stories about areas near Montgomery the state capital , of gold bars being hid and never recovered this is a very likely truth.
This would be my next excursion if I had the funds , equipment and Permission or rights to explore where once stood plantation homes.

You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: Alabama for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.
