Lost PT Boat off Florida

Are you talking about McKee's salvage boat ROSALIE, which sunk off Tavernier coming back from the Caribbean?

Was not a "PT"... that was an SC-497 which caught fire and burned to line then scuttled.

besides a pt was mostly thin wood wouldnt be much left of it now except the engines

Rivets and screws... planks were held together by thousands of copper rivets and bronze screws.

The hardest thing for me to believe is that a surplus military boat would be sold with a " working 50 cal. machine gun !!

Don't forget these were Navy veterans that served in the war. They got special privleges. Also anyone can buy a machine gun if you get the right license. Also read the story, the gun was not in working condition.

They came with 2.

Get a chain net and a wench on shore and leave skid marks in the sand pulling that thing ashore

Hey A2, what are you going to do with the "wench" on shore... celebrate when you get back to land with the treasure? LOL! :headbang:

NaTT, that is a great story! But it sounds like a "story." Then again, you just never know, it could be sitting there waiting for the right guy or gal to come along and pick it up! :dontknow:

I watched enough McHales Navy to know a PT boat!
