Looking to upgrade and get myself a new machine and give this one to the old lady.
I have been looking at a few models. safari ,etrac, f75, t2 , or a dfx , any input is greatly appreciated. im pretty much an all around hunter. coin/jewelry/relic and i sometimes hit the beach. but i have the atpro for wading purposes.
thanks again.

there has to be more input. this is the best hunting site on the net

Although I love my E-Trac, I don't think you have a need to upgrade. The At-Pro is a great detector from the reports of all it's users I read. Other than the seal problems on the initial roll-out models I haven't heard of any problems or shortcomings from it. If you feel you just have to buy something else, look at where you plan on using it. The E-Trac is a silver killer but MANY people have reported that it falls short if use it in a crop field.

I've got a Tejon for relics and love it, ML 505 that does fine for what it is... My next machine will be the Fisher f75...

im lookin between the f75 and the t2 . and a safari.and possible the regular mxt. i have read many reviews about it . only thing bad i have read is that it is not as deep sometimes. the etrac is to much cash for me. and i hear it doesnt find the gold that well. and i wouldnt want to miss any jewelry on the beach.

i am buying something new because my girl is going to take over the at pro. i am leaning more to the t2, or f75 . possible a whites mxt . never really hear anything bad about them. except some depth issues. but it is hard to guess without someone who has actually used them .

I have both the ATPro and the MXT, I've had the MXT for alot longer and would NEVER think of
getting rid of it, I have consistantly pulled fired .22 cal bullets from 12+ inches. I run the 9.5
and the 5.3 coils, I like the ATPro BUT! I love the MXT........You can't go wrong with it, Like
anything else you have to put the time into learning it..................HH

I love my AT Pro! Having said that, other than the E-Trac, or the CTX 3030, you would be making a lateral move or moving down with the other choices. You can't get much deeper than the AT Pro. I have dug coins over 12 inches deep, and bigger objects 17 inches plus. With the E-Trac you lose the waterproof, and it's a good bit heavier. I have thought about the CTX 3030, but don't think I would be gaining enough for the big price tag. I would buy another AT Pro! Just my opinion, those others are all great machines, but the machine is only as good as the person swinging it. Good luck and happy hunting.

i have read a hundred reviews that say the t2 and the f75 are hitting targets at 18" + inches. I am kind of leaning between those. I dont want to buy another at pro simply because i want to expand my tool shed.

Everyone gets the itch to buy a new detector sooner or later. If you have the money buy your dream machine. It can be fun using a new machine. I do have to say though your AT PRO is doing the job. I almost bought a Safari several years ago but did do a depth comparison with a local dealer using my Garrett 2500. The Safari didn't go any deeper but did like the Safari and still do. Several years later I bought an AT Pro and I use it most of the time. My 1500 and 2500 is used also when the time is right. My son has a 250 with the large DD coil and man that is one heck of a machine now. The search goes on for both targets and detectors but it comes down to location location.

If your looking for a machine you can relic hunt with and use on a salt water beach, Look at the Teknetics G2! I've been using one and its at home in either environment.

really looking at the t2 se. is the f75 worth the same pricetag as an etrac ?
i am still yet to read one bad review of the t2.

I have a well used DFX, bought it in 2000 and it works as well as when I bought it, got a gold ring with it two weeks ago with it and am selling it to help pay for the ctx 3030 that I just bought, 500 takes it away,
PM me if interested.

Anybody that say's the're "hitting targets at 18+ inches with a t2 or f75" must be looking for trash can lids as targets or they've been drinking their bathwater.

Maybe a PI machine in the sand will find a coin at 18" but anybody telling you a VLF machine or FBS machine is hitting coins 18" in a park is exagerating a tad bit. As stated, maybe a large piece of iron or trash.

Don't waste time with anything other than.E-TRAC,CTX 3030 or XP deus. The mxt,f75,t2 are fine machines just not that much better than the AT pro.I have the MXT pro,AT gold,E-trac, M-6,compadre,U-max and fisher ID excell. The E-trac is the only one that is really different from the rest.

Nothing wrong with an atpro, but not hard to upgrade. The atpro will dominate any and all silver dimes at 7 or even 8 inches. The atpro will find a tiny 1/4 inch brass eyelet at five inches no prob. The atpro works the trash good and handles iron good. Uprade?. Look at F70, or atgold.

Hey I'm new to the hobby and my starter detector is the Ace 250. What is the "large DD coil"? Sorry if the question sounds stupid but like I said, new. If this will improve my detector without a huge expense then I am interested.

the large dd coil is the 8.5 inch by 11 inch double d coil . it is standard on the the 350
