Tell them to shut it off and keep dogs in the house?

I helped a neighbor once trouble-shoot their underground dog fence. The dogs were getting shocked by some signal leakage to an AC underground line. The fence I worked on was on a single very low frequency (VLF). I don't remember the frequency. If you can set your detector to scan for interfering frequencies it may sense the fence frequency and avoid it. You could also try setting the detector to a single frequency and keep trying single frequencies until you no longer receive interference. If you look up the fence specifications or contact the manufacturer you may be able to determine the frequency they use. Good luck.

ED great points thanks
