Looking for MDing partner(s) & tips for MDing in Rhode Island

Hello, from another newbie! I am back into MDing just recently. A few years back, I had a Radio Shack Discovery 1000, and I got so sick of digging up trash, I sold in on eBay after just a few trips out. 2 years leter, the bug has hit me again! I just went out with my new BH Pioneer EX, and found more change in 2 hours at the local elementary school than I did in 3 weeks with the other one! The machines are really the same, and I think the difference is in knowing how to use it. I actually read the manual, and cha-ching, much better results! My 8 year old daughter has also got the bug, and I picked her up a Radio Shack $49.95 special, and she found a few coins and a costume jewelry butterfly pin that to her was a good as a chest pull of gold doubloons, lol! In the process, we also removed a large bag of trash from the school yard, so all in all, it was a good day! I'm going to hit the local beaches next, and the site of an old resturaunt the was recently torn down after being vacant for 30 years! Anyone out there in Rhode Island looking for MDing partners???

I don't live in Rhode Island now, but I did for a year in 1974. Driving from Warrick to Providence, not on the interstate though, I believe its Cranston, or just after entering Providence, there was a park, fairly large, and many people. I believe it had the name Roger in it, or William. Any way, might be pretty good today. Looked old then. Good luck. Oh, Rocky Point might be good too. We used to go there to eat clam cakes and watermellon.

Yes, Roger Williams Park straddles the Cranston/Providence line. It's a huge park, and it is already on my site list. As for Rocky Point, I would love to get in there, but the amusement park went bankrupt back in the mid-90's, and the entire property is fenced off, and is off-limits to anyone. A private developer is trying to but the property out of bankruptcy court to build condos (YUCK). I practically grew up in that park during the summer, we locals in RI really miss it. If you are interested, check out this site, it's loaded with info and some wonderful memories of the park. http://www.joenisil.com/rockypoint/

Anyway, thanks for the ideas, and happy finds Renegade!
