Does anyone know what these costume jeweled soft metal (maybe stamped brass) trinkets are? The "jewels" appear to be just cut glass, and either the 'color' is introduced in the glass at manufacture, or it is simply under the glass.
There are no holes or glue residue as if they were mounted to something, and there appears to be nothing to indicate they broke off of anything. I have handled thousands of antique furniture pieces, and as much vintage and antique jewelry, but have never run across something like these. When I dug them out of the ground, both actually had one of the metal wings folded backwards, and they were folded together. I thought they were old clip on earrings when they were like that, until I started cleaning them. Clip-ons have clips, spring loaded little clamps.
Thanks in advance......
