Does anyone know what these costume jeweled soft metal (maybe stamped brass) trinkets are? The "jewels" appear to be just cut glass, and either the 'color' is introduced in the glass at manufacture, or it is simply under the glass.

There are no holes or glue residue as if they were mounted to something, and there appears to be nothing to indicate they broke off of anything. I have handled thousands of antique furniture pieces, and as much vintage and antique jewelry, but have never run across something like these. When I dug them out of the ground, both actually had one of the metal wings folded backwards, and they were folded together. I thought they were old clip on earrings when they were like that, until I started cleaning them. Clip-ons have clips, spring loaded little clamps.

Cool recoveries.
If I had recovered them I'd just assume the two were a pair of hair barrettes missing the attachment clips.
How they attached? Pressed on where the little round digits are on the backside.
You did a bang up job on the straightening I will give you that, and hope somebody has a ID for you.

Wow! Those are really a nice design and in great condition! When I saw the colored glass & ornate scrolling design I first thought art nouveau. But take that w/ a grain of salt. Might be ear rings - but those seem pretty long for that. If I found them, I'd take them to a mom & pop jewelry shop and ask their opinion.
