Not my find, just trying to help another detectorist from a group I'm in....

This was found near Sparrows Point / Baltimore area. I think it's DAT? but I can't remember how to tell what order the letters go in. The finder would really like to know what he's got, so I offered to post here where I'm pretty sure someone will know

Thanks in advance!

I made it all the way through, I'll have entangled letter nightmares for sure... didn't see a match though

Win some lose some. I only searched 10 pages. It was worth a try.

i couldn't convince myself of this so I didn't post it earlier but since nothing else has come up I might as well :) ADT / American District Telegraph messenger /security service had different varieties of uniform buttons. I could not find one that is a match for this one. But there is one version that does have some similarity.

It all started on April 5, 1874, with a nighttime break-in. American District Telegraph (ADT) Founder Edward Callahan created a telegraph-based "call-box" to signal for assistance to a central office. He quickly connected 50 other homes in the neighborhood, creating the first residential security system network.
