I know there isn't much to go on, but the folks here are so sharp at iding things I thought I'd give it a shot.
It rang up 21-22(copper) on my nox 600, about 6 inches down and found at an elementary school that was built in 1957. It is thin and at first I thought could it really be a large cent, but with the little bit I've been able to read it appears to be a token of some kind - like a SEPTA rail or bus token, but I couldn't find any matches after a search. Also, could not find a date of any kind.
Any help would be appreciated.

I see one large and two small umbrellas (perhaps the smaller ones are parasols) and the word 'UMBRELLAS' at the left. I think this is an advertising piece from a manufacturer or seller of... hmm... umbrellas.

Here's a similar kind of thing, but probably not from the same company:

(This one is also an 1837 'Hard Times' token).
