I remember an old post about someone cleaning up at a coin dealer's shop. Something about going through the dealer's old junk coins and finding silver, buying them at slightly above face value. Anyone remember this link? I've got an old coin dealer near where I am staying who has a bunch of junk coin bins, before I stop in to "visit" I wanted to refresh my memory about this posting.

don't recall which topic it was under. I seem to recall it was under this one.

I recall one like that where there was a "grab bin" of foreign coins or something and someone found a silver one in there worth a couple bucks for 10 cents.

Not quite a "cleaning" but I did post about finding a couple of silvers in the 6 for a $1 bin a while back.

The trick here is to study hard, maybe take a magnet, maybe try the drop on some coins you aren't sure about.

Not trying the hard sell, just saying

Whoever sold for that.. wow

You'd get away with that more at a pawn shop than a coin shop. A coin shop dealer would never let someone else there to buy from another customer for a low price. Guess coins aren't the pawn shop owner's specialty.
