Well I'm ashamed to say that after further examination I don't think it's a double die...

There actually is a DD in 1917, athough you'rs doesn't look like it. It's quite evident, with a HUGE spread. You definately wouldn't have to guess if it was or wasn't!

The date may be worn and may even look normal, but the doubling on TRUST is so spread you can't miss it no matter how worn it is.
 

Yep. I think this one had another coin on top of it and was smashed as the top of the lettering is smeared. At first I thought it was double stamped, but now I believe it was just smashed by another coin or something :)

Still a great coin to find in your change!
