Since it's the end of the year, I had to remind myself that aside from the historical awesomeness of this hobby, I did originally want an MD to sell my valuable finds. (Before now, I was hoping those finds would be like expensive jewelry :laughing7: but I need some $$ so I'll take what I can get.) So I went through my collection thus far and gathered the items I wanted to sell, and I put them on eBay...and I learned something:

I never knew watch fobs were so collectible.

It's a crossover piece that appeals to more than one collector. The fact that it's a watch fob in the first place, dated 1926, has a cowboy, has a horse, is for a rodeo... These are all factors that will help raise the price of the item in the end.

My Studebaker emblem and a lead toy soldier I found are up too.

I think there's a special place other than 'today's finds' to promote your eBay auctions

I wasn't really promoting it per se... Idc whether anyone here bids on it. I was moreso noting that other people were bidding on it, beyond what I expected to see it sell for.

Fobs can do a whole lot better than that, just depends on what they are. Many years back my friend sold one from a Chicago fur company that went for $145.

And for that reason you should most definitely spend the tiny bit extra and add a 2nd category right away. I would probably put it in this too...
