[Older The Better]

Found among many 1820's artifacts, has some sort of pattern, I would say its made of lead because its heavy and malleable but it doesn't have much of a white patina like the round balls I find, its a few inches long so not very big at all. anybody know anything about this?

Could it be a piece of rolled sheet lead like they used for wrapping musket flints?

If it wasn't wrapped I'd say it could possibly be a part of a lead writing styluses.

I wouldn't think a wrap for a flint would be decorated like that but I dont know I'm not an expert.
I thought it was just another hunk of lead but the decoration is what has me curious. it seems what ever it was, it was valuable enough to decorate.
