I dug a large George Washington button while on a hunt near Salisbury NC with a great group of guys Saturday. I wasn't sure what I had found until NC Joe dipped it into a half frozen horse trough to remove the dirt. Thanks to Jamie for setting up this hunt, the land will be sold soon and any chance to recover relics will be slim.

Thanks for all the kind words and banner votes. The significance of this find has thrilled me in a much different way than the relics that I have dug in the past.
Happy Hunting and Happy New Year.

Great looking button! Welcome to the GW club! I found mine just outside of Asheville! Banner definitely!

nice button and in great shape....congrats

Wow guy...Amazing find. I didn't think you could find them around here. Congrats and Banner for Sure!

bc, you have my vote man , imo

A Banner dig ! Sure hope it get's up there even without the Top Finder's support . George Washington beat up Cornwallis pretty damn good , so don't expect any votes from across the pond 8-) CMDdawg

Thanks Curt, We missed you on this one but we 'll make up for at DIV 23,
You and Nuggetnoggin were right the AT-pro is Hot on Brass this is the third time I have been to this site and I was digging brass that the F-75 I had used previously had missed. And I would have hated to leave George behind.

Still waiting for this to be up top. Very historic button.

Must be using a non t-net picture provider. Being an early button it doesn't rate anywhere near as high as a coin, or indian artifact on this forum, but should still be a no brainer.

Very nice GW find. Banner vote is in, now lets see it up top!!!
