I'm still very new to taking and sizing photo's but anyway I know the log spikes, I dig them all the time near log camps in hollows that we call Runs. The small up and down saw blade really cool, the button I am still trying to get a clear close up, looks like brass or copper pressed over lead, it's pretty heavy, my question is, might be dumb or a long shot but would anyone know what kind of bottle and age, log camps in this part of upper north central Pa started in the 1830's till around the turn of the century. Thanks

Looks like a strap sided flask to me. Can ya get a close up of the bottom. Is it pontiled? Probably not...Or is it a hinge mold or snap case mold? That would narrow down the age. But by looking at the top it appears to be maybe 1880's 1890's....Nice find by the way. jgas

I'm not sure of the terms but I will post a photo when I get new batteries, I will explain what I can see.......The bottom and top are different from the body, The bottom has a upper case F in the middle of what I would call shower glass and is thick or has waves that I can see from the side like an ocean wave, lots of bubbles and lines through out the glass (blown?) about the size of a pint. Strapped sides indeed! And I did find an 1890 Indian in the outer foundation last time I was here!

You may have what is called "orange peel" look to it as well that would cause the waviness in the bottle. As far as the F is concerned that could just be a makers mark. Might be hinge mold. Some strap sided flasks date way back to the 1850-60 era but with a different top than yours. Yours looks like a blob topper that you would find on medicines and the like. jgas
