Log Cabin In The Woods

My partner, flynndfx40, and I found this old log cabin sitting by a creek bed deep in the woods today. First thing we thought, detecting heaven and old coins. 2 hrs later still no coins. Found a few bottles, a pocket knife (plastic handles), a crescent wrench, and a brass wedding band. What a disappointment! We think the cabin has been moved in from somewhere else and a room added on. The metal plating over the window is a 4-part hood from an early 1900's car full of bullet holes. Oh well, back to the research.

Judging by the bottles you found, I would say that is a pretty old place.
Plus I can't imagine someone moving that cabin way back in the woods.
I think it would have to have been built there.
I would recommend fanning out more to search a larger area.

I had the same experience at the site of an old cabin. I found no coins but did find a NC State Seal button. I don't think folks had much money back then to lose perhaps. Take care, BP
