Dug these today from an old homesite. The lock looks like a smoke house padlock from mid-late 1800’s to me, but haven’t been able to ID it yet. Not sure about the broken key or the “Dad JR” button.

The thing that says "Patent", is that a hinge for the keyhole? If so, I just found a hinge just like that the other day. I think I may have unintentionally ID'd one of my mystery items! Thanks.
 

i believe its called a dust cover. do you have a picture of yours?

It is a dust cover or drop. Pretty sure yours is British made.
