My fellow Treasure Hunting Club Member (Phil), and I were detecting a permission that had a house on it that was built around 1890. Phil was approached by the next door neighbor and asked if he could locate a property stake that he knew was somewhere by a tree, close to the front sidewalk.
Phil hit the area with his CTX but evetytime he got close to the sidewalk his machine would overload. To make matters worse, the search area was directly below the power lines and in close proximity to a transformer. Phil called me over and asked me to try with the DEUS.
I turned down the sensitivity, (85), and turned up the frequency, (17.5). About 4 inches from the sidewalk, I got a shallow target with a VDI of 6. (Iron). A quick incision and at 2 inches was a rebar with red tape. The neighbor, (Don), was a happy camper. Glad we could help, and yes, we got another permission.

I used to help town assayer find them - got a few permission out of it -I would not take money
but other hunters could make some extra cash doing it - my guy said they used to charge $80 for a guy to come out and find them
for home owners

I've found a few of those in my day. "Helping others" I had a work buddy years back ask me to help him stop drinking. He introduced me a few days later to his 90 year old grandmother, He said, "granny, this is my friend Brad, he's helping me get sober, he's been sober for twenty years" She said, "big deal, that's what he's supposed to do, help others!" And he's not supposed to be drunk all the time. Truer words were never spoken, back in her day everybody helped everybody, that's what would make america great again, helping others.

I like how the Deus came to the rescue, good job brother!

ATW Good job. I have found quite a few of these in my days as well. I do not know about you but i get a WARM friendly feeling for helping others .Some times the feeling we get for helping is all the payment we need :) Happy Easter

Nice gesture ATW. I have also gained permissions by being willing to find survey stakes. Even if the home where you are looking for the stakes is not old, they may own rental properties or have relatives who live in older homes that may be willing to let you detect.

Nice story! It pays to be nice.
