I score 1909 premission and thought silver coins will pouring out of the ground, but no to be just two coins a wheaty and Jefferson nickle and tons of trash. Finally got a silver signal on my equinox and out comes out piece of silver unk what it is , also found this cool pin marked AEF American expedition force, 1918, . A cool lighter too 20180712_114429.jpg20180712_114422.jpg20180712_103919.jpg20180712_103941.jpg20180712_114032.jpgScreenshot_20180712-120102_Google.jpg20180712_133319.jpg20180712_114009.jpg20180712_114013.jpg20180712_133306.jpg

Top of a smashed match safe, maybe? I agree, just a lil silver makes it a successful hunt. My last hunt was 5 hours and ended at 2pm in 98 degree heat. I was soaked with sweat but managed 7 wheats, a 1938 chauffeurs badge and a 44d merc. Success!
I'm with ya.....sometimes they look SOoooo good and then the big let down. BUT, that's part of the fun, imo.
Some spots that you don't think will produce very well will be loaded with goodies.
Grats and thanks for posting.

Congrats on hunt and some unique finds.:icon_thumright:

On that AEF pin, it has 2 hash marks. I believe they gave you this pin if you re-enlisted. Second re-enlistment you get the one with 2 marks like yours. It's been years since I collected WW1 stuff, but I think this info is correct. Gary

Congratualtions on the hunt and getting out! :occasion14:

Cool pin find! :icon_thumleft:

Congrats on what you did find, anyways. There also have been times that I had very high expectations with a site too. Just the other day I was quite sure I was going to hit some silver coin. Pulled 7 Wheats in 45 minutes. No silver.

Nice collection of some cool finds....silver going home again, congrats!!!

Here's the lighter clean up 20180713_070906.jpg20180713_070853.jpg20180713_070917.jpgScreenshot_20180712-231928_Google.jpg

Hi Jimmy, nice finds, silver is always great! I've been living vicariously through your posts. It's been a tough several months.
Traveling provides both opportunities and real challenges. I'm in Covington, KY this week. It's OLD here. Trying hard to score a good permission while here.
Hope to pass thru your area next spring. Happy hunting!
