I was hunting in Monroton PA. I got permission to hunt behind an old house that's 100+ years. It is close to rail road as well as coal mines. I'm wondering about the lock. I can't find any marks or a name on it. As Farr as the tag goes I believe EB bitt is a name.
The padlock was probably an Express or Railroad lock. Many of these would have the railroad or company that owned it embossed on the cover for the keyhole, which is missing. The point on the bottom would have had a chain attached to prevent loss when it was unlocked. Used on rail cars and such.
