Well this was a pretty good weekend, and I was ready for a good one! I have hunted everyday this week and had nothing to show for it except for a pile of wheats, clad and one indian from the old fairgrounds I have been hunting.

Saturday I picked up Stringfrenzy (Josh) and off we went to a farm he had permission for, he had hunted there before but said he did not get much. I got the brass stirrup along the sidewalk about 10" deep and thought that was a good start, well from there we both went almost 2 hours till another keeper. I walked to the far end of the property and found 2 flat buttons then nothing again till I was about to give up and started swinging my way back over to Josh and I got a sweet 12-47 at 7" deep. I am not sure how I missed this the first time thru here, but sure glad I got it before I left, out popped my first large cent of the yr, 1837. On the other side of the yard withing 5 minutes Josh pulled a 1853 LC.

Then we went up to a house in town he had hunted a bit before and I got a couple wheats, then got the sterling ring, it is marked 10K gold filled sterling....pretty neat, inside is gold outside silver, Also got a 1917 merc there as well. The owner had a baby raccoon that was absolutely adorable and I asked if I could hold him for a pic, well he ran right up and sit on my hat and made for a great photo...lol

Sunday I met up with Starky (Erich) and we went knocking doors, did a few curb strips, from the curbs I got a 5 cent trade token, tons of clad, couple wheats. And the last stop was an old house, yard was tiny, the owner said it had been detected before but we were welcome to try our luck, first dig was a 1935 wheat, nothing special, clad quarters were literally everywhere, dug over $5 in clad, I dug a signal in the front and when I opened the plug, there lay the nice shooter marble, that was a bonus, underneath it was a shotgun shell, good thing I dig all those signals! Last dig there was the hefty sterling bracelet. It is just shy of 1/2 oz of sterling, not bad way to end the weekend!

Sweet finds. I have always wanted to dig one of those brass stirrups whole. No dice. All I can find is pieces of them.

Congrats,
