a rough time era would help greatly and would speed things up quite a bit---

the dutch admiral piet heyn lost at least 4 spanish nao type ships --they were from the spanish treasure fleet heyn took off of cuba ---heyn was the only one to knock off "a whole spanish treasure fleet" --- he lost several ships on the way back while sailing thru the fla straights when a hurricance struck them --- they were swept eastward into the northwest providence channel and wrecked one by one along the north reefs of the great bahamas bank between great isaac and stirrup cays --some may have been carried over the edge to mackie bank--several ships were lost overall----there are several ballast mounds that very well could have treasure around them in the general area ---these maybe the "wrecks" that you seek---and most likely were what the "dutch salvage ships" that you speak of were after ---this is my best to date info according to my sources--- are these the ones your talking about? Excellent information. There are 3 ballast piles in very shallow water with a large anchor within 500 meters of one of the ballast piles.

Im not sure whether the ships you are refeering to are the ones that we discovered, but they could be. Aproximatley have far in distance from Grand Bahama Bank is Little Bahama Bank?
 

the two banks are a good ways apart but --- from the sounds of what your telling me --it looks as though you found a "fleet" wreck type area (a place were several ships went down at the same general time / storm)---shallow waters say 30 ft or less---(early treasure ships were not very deep draft vessels)---plus a nearby anchor----very good !!!! ---this is IMPORTANT !!!! the size & type of the anchor ---the type of metal its made of and the way its was designed & built all can be a big tip off- to both the wrecks "time frame" and possible nationality--that info can tell you alot---sounds like you're on to something good though---be warned some salvager types will "remove" any anchors they find---(but only after they record the spot on "their" private charts they also often remove cannons too---they do this because they know that the iron in the anchors and cannons sets off the proton mags used by most pro wreck searchers ---thus they "hide" the spot from others--or blind them to refinding a spot--so to prevent "dirty tricks" being pulled on you by others by others-- get a triple fix the spot where your "finds" are at----plus the sea often plays its evil games with salvors and what looks one way today might not look the same 2 weeks from now--- ;) Ivan

Thankyou for the info.
The anchor is shaped like an "arrow" at the end. Flutes are not rounded but come to a sharp point more or less, with an angle between the 2 flutes aprox. 50-60 degrees. The end that attched the rope is probably 15-20" in diameter.

You might also check into the salvage permitting process in the Bahamas right now. They are not allowing salvage work in their soveriegn waters at the moment. There are some rumors, but they are uninformed. Yes, there are salvage boats there, but they are not currently working on wrecks in Bahamian waters.
 

I know that a well know salvor was asked to leave there recently, and that permits are not being given. However, we are "over the horizon" from any land mass and theres nothing wrong with throwing a few fishing poles over the side.

yep heyn had several wrecks thats a fact--- pirate treasure in more than one way Ivan ;)

Has anyone found any concrete evidence of the 4 lost Dutch ships? and would there even be a manifest of the ships cargo in an archive somewhere?
