Lion's head ring. Gold rings #14-15-16-17

It took 3 months to find these 4 rings. My ring total for the year is 88.

I knew I was due for a gold ring because I've been averaging 1 gold ring for every 5 rings I find. I'd found 7 non gold rings before the lion's head today. I was super happy.

I found it near 3 picnic tables in the local park which is over 100 years old. I've checked this area numerous times but it's so trashy I don't stay in there long. I knew when I heard the sound that it was just another piece of trash. To my surprise out pops this 9.1 gram's of 10k gold ring. =)

It's hard to tell in the pictures but one ring has 5 tiny diamonds and one has 3 small diamonds.

About 10 minutes after finding the lion ring I found a spill from the 1940's. Four wheats and a 1942 dime in excellent condition down about 9 inches. The wheats are 1935, 1939, 1940 and an unknow as of yet.

AWESOME! Your lion ring would be cool even if just a bland lion head, but the fabulous lion head here is super down to least detail - WOW! :notworthy: :headbang: Can't imagine someone losing that without noticing. Your other 3 rings are lovely. Andi

Look at all that treasure ! Sweet finds , love the Lion ring . Keep them rings coming !

Ring Depth

I'm new to detecting just wondering since you seem to get a lot of rings...at what depth do you usually get them at? I'm finding that I have to dig a little deeper then what my detector reads out for things.

Great Finds BTW

One out of five is very good. I expect find one tomorrow then:thumbsup:

What a sweet ring, dunno if I could ever sell that one especially if it could be fitted to one of my fingers !

Awesome rings! Love the lion head, all I seem to find are women's rings, not complaining but I want one I can sport!

Hi Treasure, I find rings at every debth. From right on top of the ground to about 9 inches. Most rings are from 1 to 3 inches though.
It took me years to start finding gold. I think I went through the same process we all do. In the end, it turns out your best bet is to dig every target from a pulltab down if you want gold. I'm talking about the pop tops that come in slightly higher than a nickel. Actually some gold that I've found is slightly higher than those pop tops. I've never found solid gold higher than that. They could be out there, I just haven't seen one yet.
Silver rings with gold on them of course are way higher.

Good luck!

Nope I wont be selling it.

Yeah it took me forever to find a ring that fit just right. I think women wear more rings than men do so that's why they're out there.
Keep looking, you'll find one when you least expect it. =)
