Leuitenants Bar ?

My brother found this years ago and would like to know what era it comes from. I tried looking for one like it but the closest I could find was a WWI but it had a hollow back. It looks like this one may have been repaired in the field.

I seen a few like that labeled as WWI coffin style bars.

WW1 era for sure, a bit before or after.... At some point between WW1 and WW2 they changed to the flatter bar design but I don't know exactly when offhand
