I find that Bighorn flint quite extensively, of course it is literally in my back yard. Not too far to go.

Guilford found many moons ago. Pretty decent workmanship for quartzite with the tiny serrations and all.

Not too much red around mere. But it occurs in the East Texas Piney Woods as cobbles in the sand.

The first artifact I found, a pestle. I didn’t know a thing about artifacts at the time and just thought it was a cool shaped rock. A friend who knew much about them informed me years later what is was. His information is what what got me started in this hobby. Its closer to purple, being a real deep red.
