Its my Avatar & one of my favs.

Sometimes its hard to understand how a 1000 year old coin comes out so good. Light wash with water only :o

With the detail and being so round it first jumps out as a modern fake. It really beat the odds if it was a farm field find.

Yeah, I know, the Museum thought it was knicked up from a hoard (very common in this period). Been all over that area, but no joy yet, haven't given up. (tend to be 1000 coin shares at £200 each would be quite nice, even if I did have to hand it in and take the money which you know I'm not bother about)
