What I found today
After working around the house today and keeping an eye on the Baltimore weather, I left mid-afternoon for a few hour hunt at Riverside Park. The O's opener was underway and this made parking a challenge but I got the last spot at the dead-end on Covington St. Just happened to run into the young lady who lost a ring and had asked me to search for it a few weeks ago. Still didn't find it today...maybe next time. Sure would like to recover it for her.
Took a spin along the east side of the park and turned up four wheats: 1918, 1919S, 1933 and 1953. Found a broken piece that reminds me of the top of a valve on a trumpet; the flat top has some decorative scroll work. Late in the hunt I got my Indian Head (1897) and about two feet away came up with a broken piece of plated metal that reads "POLICE SPECIAL" on one side and "MADE IN USA" on the other... no idea what it is. One older key was found that was made by Curtis Key of Cleveland, Ohio; from what I read of Cleveland history, a man named Cole started with National Key in Cleveland in 1926 and then left and started a key division of Curtis Industries in 1933, so this key is no older than the thirties.
Thanks for checking the pics out and HH to you all.
