Sold them all.
Hi all,

Spent last night reading thru older post and saw one started by "klava" regarding Legos, that was very interesting. On my 5th stop this morning I picked up the below lot of around 40 figures for $2. Hoping they're worth more! Had I not read the posts, I would have passed right by them, thanks.

Planning on "Fee-Baying" as a lot, anyone have another recommendations. They had large boxes of legos too, but I did not have the room, went back and they were gone. :(

No other nice finds to speak of, got some copper and brass scrap pieces and a nice bit older wicker basket for $3, and 100 matchboxes for $8. No Jewelry or Sterling anywhere.

Thanks, Sean

I was just looking at "fee-bay" and those storm trooper mini figs are going for at least 2 bucks a piece. I would say that you made a great grab.

lego mini figs with there gear go from .50-12.00 a fig

For the most part starwars minifigs go for the higher end of the spectrum . I pulled $2 a trooper a few months ago for a batch i sold . The red guard you may be able to pull 3.00 for the black troopers maybe a little more if there not beat up . The droids less because there a lot of them . the human looking ones are anywhere in the scale and will be based on rarity and coolness . A intact boba fett is one on the higher end of the scale . Any chrome piece or clear pieces are worth sorting out of the main batch for resell .

I normally sort out minifigs , wheels , chrome , trans color clear pieces , weapons . Then i fill gallon ziplocks with 2-3 scoops of a 32 oz cup and resell at the fleamarket market for 5-10 a bag . I normally try to make sure the bags have atleast a junk minifig , a set of wheels and wings and one windsheild . My last big batch i was able to get 16 bags out of and still had a bunch of wheels and minifigs left over .

Great find.
A couple of weeks ago I was at a church rummage sale. when I got to the back of the room where the toys were, I saw a greasy haired, weird looking woman pulling one mini fig after another out of a cardboard box. She must have gotten 20-30 of them
2 minutes too late :BangHead:

Thanks for the replies.

Nightowl-Wow that quite a few! Thanks for the advise. I'm going to make an attempt to sell in groups. Always on the lookout for Legos NOW!

The amazing part is that there wasnt more then $400 invested in garage sale legos and ive recouped all my investment and still have a ton of lego and minifigs

I went to a garage sale here in town about a year ago and bought about 50 bennie-baby stuff toys for about $10,the lady that was selling them said she was gonna put 'em out in the trash if nobody was gonna buy them, well my kids were to old to have/want them so I sent them to my cousin who's child is about 3 years old.Well the other day my cousin sent me a birthday card with a $50 bill and said was I sure that I wanted to give these away(they still had the tag on their ears, and that their worth more$$ if the tag is still there).I told her that I wasn't selling them to her I was giving them to her. ???

As mini figs go does it have to be part of the mini figs sets or can they be mini figs from old sets? I still have my 4 boxes of legos at my parents and have many figures and accesories....might have to start parting my legos out.

Iceman,

I don't think it matters much, but I would think a set might be worth more. Certain characters seem to be worth more. You can check what you have on Fee-Bay's "completed auctions" as long as you're a registered user.

Just make sure they don't throw them out. ;D

Depends on age, rarity, set are all factors in price of minifigs . Starwars minifigs carry higher value because it hits 2-3 collector groups outside of lego . Set wise are they played with , are they complete with books , Do they have rare figures , color where they limited production . Chrome is one of the rarer colors for lego do to the price to make the brick and its lack of holding up over time . For a while tan was a rare color because a guy was making full size dinos out of tan bricks . The run on police station sets 3 years ago was do to the windows and Opera putting it on the top of her xmas list . The windows where used to make space crafts for some brick fest and the police set gave the most of them . Your older bricks may be worth a ton or it maybe worth a little better then new lego . Ebay is a good market indicator Of what something at that min may go for but overall price per brick the brick xchange site is a better per piece indicator .

My last reply seem to have disappeared, Me the wife and kid collect the Star Wars minifigs and you would be amazed at what they go for. Prices go up and down but the rare ones just go up. Example; Jango Fett- $75., Cloud City Boba Fett $100-140. limited gold C3PO, $100-200., We have many we have spent up to $40. for. There are over 325 Star Wars Minifigs, and we have all but a handful needed to complete the collection. The Grievoius you have with the cape is worth $25. without the cape $20.
Legos are tough to find at yardsales and fleamarkets because people pass them down to thier kids since they haven't changed and they never go out of style. I found a Tupperware tub of them last month at a thrift shop for $30. and ended up with a few nice minifigs. Just once I found a guy at the flea market with a bunch of them in plastic bags all priced sepratlely, I offered him $40. and took the entire table. Believe it or not they are replicated, there are more fake, AKA "custom" Jango Fett figs then there are real ones. You have to watch out for the word "custom" and know when they are original.

This is a lot of Legos I got this summer garage saling that I just put out on Ebay. I never looked for Legos before seeing them on Tnet, along with a few other items, and hopefully they'll pay off. I paid $4 for this lot which has about 20 figures and 4 1/2 lbs. of pieces. I put this lot out on Ebay all together as pictured, not sure if I should have sorted it out more?

Good Luck! I though about sorting too, but since I didn't know most of the characters, seemed like too much work.
Let as know how you make out.

If i was to sort it out .

trans clear ( windows , win shields , clear bricks )
Mini figs ( sort out the starwars rest you can bulk together or sort by sets )
bulk lot - lots ( decaled painted peices and old grey can also be sorted out ) Also odd ball colors can be worth more since its tougher to build with them do to level of available and not .

Like the pink bricks coudl be sorted out .
http://www.peeron.com/ can be used to figure out peices and what goes with what .
