Lean Pickings from the Villa

it's been hard going over the past couple of weeks a few factors have lead to this the Villa field which I have been waiting for, was not ploughed and the outher fields still in wheat stubble

I thought I would give the Villa another try to see if I could winkle a Silver out :P allass it was not to be, well not a Roman one anyway

Bullhead Shilling 1817
A small religious pendant
hammered Silver? (not even worth a pic)
15 Roman Bronze coins, (including my smallest ever at 6mm)
And a whatsit(see last picture)

If that is lean pickins', give me some.
You guys slay me.
If by nighthawks, you are referring to folks doing a little night digging, uninvited, they give all a bad name, on both sides of the pond. It is probably going to get worse, with the Staffordshire find. That'll bring 'em all out of the woodwork. Like roaches. Disgusting!

I was talking to a freind today about the Saxon Hoard, apparantly the finder did everything by the book, GPS the find spot, left finds in situe and so on the Archy's were very complimentry to the finder, hopefully this will give us a little bit back, from what the nighthawkers have taken away
