Yes it could be a gaming token, but what about other value tokens. Did they make tokens for pennies,shilling etc ?.

Lead tokens were given to all sorts of workers and Churches gave them to the poor so they could exchange them for food.
However to identify this as a token there would have to be an issuers trade mark or a basic symbol on the reverse without this i would go with a gaming token ;D
