Here is a token of some sort, made of lead. The picture is obviiously a derogatory rendition of an early african american (or just african, not sure), found in area with 3 seated liberty coins, that has been covered with sidewalk for 80 years or more. Any info would help. Thanks guys. Token has another similar pic on reverse, but not exactly the same, but no writing has been found. Still a little dirty on back.

I've never seen anything like it before. Never seen a lead token either. Cool find. It might be some kind of African American club token. Matt

Artists would exaggerate certain features of the Africans, such as their lips, noses, or hair styles. But I haven't seen any art in that style since before 1900. I'm guessing it dates to well before 1900, like 1870 or before.
