I was out yesterday after work and I'm now getting around to posting my finds. I searched a wooded area near some train tracks that I partially searched last year.

My first find was this lead soldier that had a VDI of 70.

Further along the hillside I get this nice VDI 84, I was thinking a silver coin. I dug a plug and saw a slim silver disc then removing the dirt I saw a religious pendant. I'm not certain if it's silver or the age.

My last good target of the day was a VDI 82, I wasnt expecting a large copper coin. It's just as big as a Large Cent but I can't positively ID it. The only visible detail is silhouette of a head on the one side.

Like always, any info is welcome. Good luck this weekend!

Hi MH. Looks like you have a mystery copper. Enough detail to point you in a couple directions. One of the fun parts of this hobby for me. I found this coin a few months back probably just 10 miles from where you are searching. Looks similar. I think mine was iD'd potentially as a Hibernia.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521241263.330442.jpg
I'm sure someone will chime in. Congrats!!

KG3? Bust facing right is what I think I see.

I like the lead toy soldier. Well done.

It definitely looks like a KGI Woods Hibernia. That would make it 1722 or 1723. Nice finds.

Congrats on some nice finds!

That would be a bust right, and his is left. To me it looks like an old Head George II.

Congratulations on the great haul. Post better pix of your lead soldier after you clean it and I will try to help you ID him. Sub 8-)

Here goes the front and back, the base doesn't have any visible markings. It's in rough shape.

MH, It is highly probable that your figure is a "home cast" cowboy. He has no pack, equipment, military style clothing that I can see. Figures sold in sets or in bins were usually held to a high standard of quality control. They would not leave the factory with the extra "flashing," i.e., lead that seeped out of the mold surrounding the figure, as evident on your guy's head and chest. But it probably dates to the 20's-30's, and overall is in good shape to display. Cheers, Sub 8-)

Nice finds. Congrats!

Lead toys are always cool finds as well as Catholic Medallions or Pendants. That slick old copper may get you enough detail to get an ID but, suffice it to say she's OLD! Very good hunt my friend. Three wonderful keepers. Well done.:icon_thumright:

Super day. Congrats

I was talking about the OP's coin. Not the coin added in the reply. Sorry for the confusion. The coin added in the reply is clearly a KGII so I agree with you there IP. I only included that reply in mine because that person referred to the OP's find as looking like a Woods Hibernia.
