So you believe that the asterisks are the caches, then the 50 next to the stone might mean 50 veras from the stone.

I doubt that, since the words on the map are all in English.
The rock slab is about 50 yards upslope from the terraced area, so maybe that.
But there is also a large "5" slightly above the slab. If there was also a zero back when, it has become too faint to see.
So far as I know, the Sleeping Lady Treasure predates the Peralta to Waltz time frame, and is Piman in origin, which suggests something older.

Maybe you found the lost "lady looking out treasure" mick
But I haven't been looking for, as much as looking at. Not every treasure is a mine, and neither is every map one which leads to gold or silver mines out there.
All three "asterisks" are located on vertical rock faces, facing N/S/E in this case, so may have something to do with seasonal observations. Caches associated with them might contain items used for rituals associated with that, as well as digging sticks and pots of corn kernels or other seeds for next-year's planting......rather than what most others would consider "treasure" nowadays.
The map is obviously twentieth century vintage, but could be based on something older of course.
Not much point in trying to link it to the stone maps though, or to the Tumlinsons and Jesuits for that matter.
Sounds like you're almost there mick.
I wonder if Travis played golf ?
