LC, Wheats and Flat Button

Hi all. Got out today for a 2 1/2 hour hunt at a permission from a nice elderly lady. Found a 1940 Jefferson and 4 wheat spill. First time I ever wished one of my coins was 2 years newer, lol, as I have yet to find my first war nickel. I made another pass and was almost back to the spill point and got a repeating 66-67 on the AT Pro. Wasn't really expecting a flat button in the yard but out popped a small one just like the one I found last week with Chris minus the shank. Looks like the same circles on back around the solder point. I finally made it to the old garden spot on the other side of the house and got a nicer loud 85 on the Pro. 4 inches down and out came the LC. I was happy but surprised to see it as well. Not really sure about the last digit of the date. Tooth picking alone cleaned it about as well as it's probably going to get. Thanks for looking!

yeah george any day now, she was having contractions on friday while i was huntin w dave
sunday during my sons football game i told her she had to hold it in until atleast 9 pm til after
his game and my 49ers game lol!!!!

Always nice finding a large cent. How come you didn't mention what appears to be a meteorite that you photographed your finds sitting on? With that kind of shell around a rock it seems that's what happens when they heat up entering the atmosphere.

I always pick up odd rocks on my hikes or floats trips down the river Don. As a young boy with only sisters and no neighbor kids, I'd spend much of my summer days searching a local creek for fossils. Old habits are hard to break. I found the one you're talking about while hiking a nearby coal mining trail. The following one was on a river island here. Looks just like Robin Hood's foot, lol.

The LC and the flat button tell me there was older activity on or near where you're hunting. I would range out some, you might be on the fringe of the site. Might need to get some neighbor's permission.

This is why I didn't even tell Chris my schedule this week, lol. I didn't want to tempt him into getting out and having it turn into another marathon hunt. I have never met his wife, but don't want her blaming me for Chris's addiction, lol!

Thanks, Steve. I stood in the yard yesterday and looked at the corn and hay across the road and thought this fall I need to come back and see about getting permission for those. I have been mentally filing locations for fall at all sites that have yielded old coppers.
