LC...Some Cool Relic's and a Flying Eagle.....For Real!!!

Man this place is Hopping!!!.....I was supposed to meet Ty at the 1700's house this morning at 5:00am sharp (snooze button) at least I made it up there by 6:15.Today we decided to work the garden area,this place is huge,I would guess close to an acre!Started swinging and about halfway down the side I was working hit a solid 80,no matter which way I worked it,it didn't budge,solid 80 @ 3".I was figuring on something else and then this baby show's up....A No-Date LC ....I'll take it,I haven't found one yet with a date.Came out of the garden with a flat button and some other piece's.Took a couple break's here and there and on the last "run" I hit a Lion's head right in front of the house in the hardest packed gravel you would ever want to deal with,took me 15 min.'s to dig this out at 7"'s.Moved around to the back where I found the "Fatty 1864" last weekend and got my last hit of the day.....4-5"'s down another lookin' fatty come's out....Not so!! This was a 1857 Flying Eagle my Friend's....I'm pretty much wore out and "PUMPED" for the day at the same time.Thank's for lookin',more pic's after these....

That is one good site for hunting, what does the backside of the Lion look like? Always nice finding a Flying Eagle cent, congrats on that and hopefully your next Large Cent will have a big fat date on it!

Thank's Merf....Looked up the history on these guy's and was amazed,they got to be a needle in the haystack sort of.I'm very happy with this find,I would have been even happier if the LC would've had a date ....Maybe next time!!

WOW! Those are some fantastic finds, civilman1. Congratulations! I've never seen a Flying Eagle Cent in person, probably never will out here in California. I'll have to live vicariously through you. LOL Nice diggin'.

Civilman, I looooove that coppa, buddy. I have only found one Flying Eagle penny in my career. They read in the "pulltab" range, so most people wouldn't dig them.

Some nice finds there brutha! The Flying Eagle cent is AWESOME!!!!! Large cents are always first rate as well! I think that Lion's Head is very very Cool. I wonder what you face looked like when you scooped away the dirt that revealed that face looking up at you Great Finds Bud!!!
