you got some nice old stuff there

Wow - I think the the broken object in picture Image_0252 is Part of a Saxon Chip Carved piece!!!!! Possibly a Strapend, however it seems to widen out to much so might be another type of mount, but you can see the zoomorphic (beast head) at the terminal end. This needs further research, I would be over the moon with this :o :o :o :o :o - circa 9th century (800s)

Handle might be silver plated.

Left object is most likely an old drawer handle.

Circa 1300s spur buckle with pin

Yes the object in 0252 is interesting for sure... It could be hard to find out what exactly it is but you should try.
Nice finds!

Nice finds!

Forgot where you are, it could easily be Sandinavian (Viking era) instead of Saxon.

These finds were found on danish soil and most finds from that spot are from the 1200- 1300,s.
I also got pretty excited about the ornated piece with the beast head thinking it would be viking.
Viking finds from this area however are very rare so i try not to put my hopes to high but it would
truly be awesome if it where and ad new history to this place wich already is rich in history. A fellow
detectorist found a papal bulla of Benedictus XI. Several other cool finds have been made on this spot, although
not viking so i really hope this ornated piece would turn out to be in the viking age.

Very nice relics

told you it was old! :D

Thanks all for your replys.
@ Shaun. You were totally right. I know now that i can rely on your expertice :D

Agree with the Cru on this one.. Viking would be my guess, any chance of a pic of the back of it, if it's flat then I would say strapend, but could also be part of Brooch :icon_study:

Im happy you agree with Crusader. Eventually it will go to the museum so if it doesnt get an ID before that hopefully they will.
The back is flat BTW.

Thanks for your thoughts, i didnt think that was a hole but im pretty new to detecting and i keep finding stuff i didnt know existed before.
There is so much to learn and i owe much of my new knowledge to fellow detectorists.
I checked around on saxon/viking strapends and the beast head certainly seems common on them but couldnt find one with this shape. Some
similar ornament though. More research needed!
