Hit two spots last week on my two days off and managed to mark off 3 incredible finds from the 1700s, and THREE more things off the bucket list. First day out I managed to have two consecutive hits in one swing on an old path near a 1700s foundation, first hole popped out an absolutely incredibly beautiful Georgian Silver Plated Shoe Buckle frame about 8 inches deep, second hole popped out the chape making it complete!! Also found a gorgeous silver plated decorative rosette and a gold plated ring with stone!! Second site popped out an 1801 draped bust and a 1782 Hibernia!! Along with some other cool relics. What a great week it was!! All found with the equinox 800 in field mode, recovery 6, sensitivity 22, iron audio on. HH!!:headbang:

Thanks folks, this was extremely high on my bucket list of relics and it felt not only amazing to find the frame but to find the tongue/chape only a foot away to compete it was nothing short of awesome!!! I live in little Rhode Island and I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by incredible history. This buckle was found in The town of Exeter at an old foundation site dating back to the mid 1700s, much overgrowth of pines surrounded the area but hitting any areas that were clear definitely paid off, im guessing the area I found these relics were part of a small field approximately 50yrds away from the foundation that I’m guessing was plowed due to how flat it was and lack of rocks in the soil. This is a picture of it all cleaned up with andres pencils. 1322C2B1-DA9E-47E7-9FB1-B0896E745E03.jpeg

I’d be shocked if that’s not solid silver. If it is it’s an easy BANNER find and a dream find very near the top of my list. Congrats on some amazing recoveries.

Incredible shoe buckle and beautiful rosette. Love the coppers too.

Very nice finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Beautiful finds. The buckle is amazing. I would think some plating would be flaked off after a couple centuries in the dirt. Solid silver?

Thanks guys I have noticed one spot on the buckle frame that has popped up and it seems to appear like a solid silver shell over brass and only on the top side of buckle. I also spent some time cleaning up the rosette today since the ground is almost impossible to dig and she came out stunning!! First a baking soda and lemon juice bath for one minute, then andres pencils for any remaining crud, second quick bath, and soft brass brush for final polish.
