I liked the idea of a surgical instrument also....but will have to agree with Taz. The reason is...once he said that I scraped the center of the flat side and found that what was left of the screw was rust and I figure it would also be brass if medical. And the length is only 3 1/8".

Hey Keith.....Early form of security for publicans worried about unauthorized access to their open barrels. The end of these keys came in a variety of geometric shapes and all had matching locks....:thumbsup:
