I got out today even though it's in the negatives now...figured one last time. The batteries in the machine last about half as long as normal in the cold weather.

Some clock parts.

Muskrat spear and striker found in the same hole, must have been a fur trade guy who lost those.

Horse buckle and large nail.

Another lock...I found an identical one at the same site.

I started keeping the harmonica parts I find, got a pile now.

The large clock part had a makers mark on it...DV I assume?

Nice assortment of finds WawaDuane. Thanks for sharing...

Well done on the striker and spear. One has to appreciate the FurTrade Era finds that yourself and others post up. Congratulations.
The cooler weather is upon us now, negitve temps for a high it's becoming increasingly important that we get out to do some hunting.

Great finish to the season. Stay warm.

Congrats on your finds. Its hard to believe the end of another season is closing in on us. I still have a few months left here in Illinois, and depending on the winter, I have been known to go right thru Jan. and Feb. I dont mind the cold temps, but when the ground freezes its hard to carry the extra tools that you have to use to get thru.
