So I’ve been in a silver slump so I thought I’d go to a few different kinda places to hunt. I hit cellar holes in New Hampshire, a vacant plot of land in the middle of nowhere and a revolutionary war militia camp/1803 church. Didn’t find any old silver, just a ‘43 war nickel, some wheaties, flat buttons, re-enactors cuff button, a bunch of buckles, a silver charm, junk earring, unused toe tap (I think), musket ball, lead pewter spoon handle, a ramrod ferrule and some other chunks of crappola that made my detector go “beep”.
If anyone has a clue to what musket the ferrule came off of, please let me know. It’s not a Brown Bess or a charliville and judging by the diameter of the ramrod, it could have been a smaller caliber rifle. I also posted a picture of the back of a flat button from a New Hampshire cellar hole, I thought the makers mark was cool so........
GL&HH be safe, question authority and don’t forget to pay your local government back accordingly this fall😉👍🏻
