After a long unproductive day at an old site. I was walking back to my car and turned my discrimination on my T2 to 70 as I was frustrated hearing all the iron and garbage after 9 hours of hunting. About 20 feet from my car I got a slamming 92 hit which was shocking as I have pounded this site and am sure I went over this area multiple times. About inches down found this beautiful model 1851 Union officer Sword belt plate. My second of the year. Quite a nice early Christmas gift!!!

That's one sweet plate  Great way to end a long hunt.

BEAUTIFUL FIND GREG , BEAUTIFUL FIND ....

WOW awesome find, and your second one, congratulations man[emoji109]🏻

Thanks for all the great comments. Much appreciated

Smokin' hot plate there bud! They always say, if you're gonna make a killer find, it'll be the first one out of the vehicle, or the last one, dog tired. But after digging that . . . I think I would have hunted at least an hour or two more by flashlight! Great find, my friend.

Persistence pays off-fantastic find. Congratulations!

What a great way of ending the day and so close to end of the day, congrats on the great looking keeper.
I've seen it lots of times where folks walk out onto a site turn on the machine, at the end of the day turn off the machine while out a ways on the site and walk back to the vehicle. It only takes one person that keep the machine going right to the sideline of the said site and they get the keeper.

Yes !! Yankee Sword plate is a Top Shelf relic in the USA but imho these seldom get any recognition outside the states ..... can't stand the partiallity any more .. just sayin' ,
not a fan of the banner thing since the mass exodus of 2012 .
Congrats to ya mon , makes for a nice Christmas gift if you want to send it to me . 8-)

Man 9 hours of Nothing then BAM!!!!
Your persistence paid off.
Also 9 inches "loud & clear" & not a Can or Huge Plow Piece.
That one was waiting for you.

Fantastic plate Gregg.
Definitely exciting.
Let me ask, would you have liked to find it first thing or last thing?
It always seems my best finds always happens first or last..lol
Never in the middle.

Definitely last Vino. If I find something really good early I find it hard to concentrate the rest of the day...
