I finally found my first large cent this morning. I was detecting my 1800’s homestead, which I have detected almost daily for two years, and I found my oldest coin to date. An 1847 largie!!! Such a good day!!! She was 8-10 inches down, below two old square nails. I could hear a repeatable high tone, but not a great one. I dug and there it was.
Thank you Black Bart for reminding me on YouTube to share it over here. ✌🏼❤️😊🍀

Congrats

Very nice coin, Good Job!

Could be more of those on the area, go for them!

👍🏽😎

Your first large cent and you went and pulled one in better condition than 95% of the ones that come out of the ground. Bravo! That's got amazing detail, please don't clean it and leave it as is!

Congrats!! Awesome find! Kinda jealous too though. 😄

It's so thrilling finding one, I found one years ago an 1862, never saw one that big CENT was twice as big as a penny. very nice going!

A big congrats on your first Large Cent - lot's of detail there - a day you always remember ! :occasion14:

It was an even better memory having my oldest son there asking if I was done yet. He got to see it live and not on a video. It was awesome :) <3

I'm definitely not cleaning it. I love her the way she is. I was amazed at how much detail was there once the dirt was removed. It had to have been dropped in 1847. It's beautiful.

She is a beauty!! Congrats:icon_thumleft:

OK NOW explain to us your EXACT FEELING when you found the LARGE CENT ?

Disbelief. I threw my glove and backed away with my hands on my head. . Then, I recomposed myself and cleaned the coin - I was worried it was a token, but kind of knew better. Then, pure freakin’ joy and a feeling of accomplishment 😊 Especially when I saw all of the detail.

I was sure you would say something like this. AGAIN CONGRATUATIONS !!! There is probably more in the same area
