Hit a large local park near the beach for a quick 1 hour hunt today. The city I live in is slowly demolishing older homes near the beach to help expand our park area. The house that use to sit here dated to the 1940's and was torn down about 5 years ago. I found the ring within the first 5 minutes of being on site. ;D

It was probably a recent drop as it was only 1" down. The ring's missing 3 of it's stones and weights 7.2g. It's marked, although I can't make out the stamp. It might be 10k, I really don't know? :dontknow:

The brass hose nozzle is marked "Champion" and marked "Made Italy" inside the collar.

Thanks for looking,
Dave

Hey, AntiQ, I would sift around there a little more to find the rest of those stones. There could be more in there you know. Very nice! :coffee2:

I could be wrong and I hate to be negative... but when you see that kind of design on the upper inside of the ring it usually mean its not gold... anyone else notice that? Like I said I could be wrong and I hope I am... still its a great find and a beautiful ring!

Nice ring, but I like finding hose nozzles. I have half dozen or so, and a number of different designs. Interesting. I am using most of them. The dirt eventually comes out. Roots are a little tougher.

Ring is excellent. Nozel is teriffic. The only one's that you can buy now have flow restrictors and are not worth a hill of beans. When ever I can I pick up an old one at garage sales or when I find them. Two so far. They do clean up and work. HHHH

Yes, that was my first thought as well. I am no expert and don't like to be negative either, but the stones look "glued" in--like the prongs do not come over the stones to hold them in. This technique is not used in the real deal. Hope I'm wrong too.

Yeah, "real" would have more than 1 small stamp i think? Looks "costume" to me sorry.

Hi Chug :hello:
I found it right where my detector is, about 5' out from the tree base.
Best of luck to you! :icon_thumright:

Congrats,

Thanks Doug,
It felt real good when I found it because of the weight it had to it,
but after I cleaned it . . . I started to have my doubts about it. :icon_scratch:

All the best to you buddy,
Dave

Sorry, but, I have to go with the "costume" opinion on the ring. As someone else pointed out, the stones appear to be glued in and there is a lack of a makers mark and a proof. A decent jeweler could verify authenticity very quickly......let us know. I'm betting the cool hose nozzle is of greater value.....I have found only one just like it and, it too, works just fine. Can't beat those old brass nozzles!!
