large plier like tool

Found these out back of the old B&B I;ve been hunting, There was a barn out back at one time and would say these were something to do with the farm or animals? They are 22 inches long.....Any ideas?

Us girls are sorry!! (not really).

I never heard of it used for the other things, but then, the pairs I have are old, and I got them from my old farrier, and he did "hot" shoeing, so, he really was a blacksmith, I guess.

I have been waiting for you to get in on this one.....You are good at these horsey tools........wtg.

HI (GAls especially) I made and used thinigies somewhat simliar in assaying for handleng hot crucibles You would pick up the thingie with it's molten rock/metal materiel, then gently pour it into a seres of cone shaped molds. Obviously you needed a firm grip or else!

Unfortunately the picture isn't quite that clear so ??

I've also seen something similar to that and it was used to close a "C-shaped" clamp. Something like the clamps that are used to attach the solid wire to the bottom of a chainlink fence so the fence can't be lifted so easily.
