I came across this over the weekend and thought it was just too cool to pass up.

I was thinking its a German Hand Made Joseph Coat Marble but I don't know very much about marbles at all and would love to know more about it.

I don't know a lot about marbles but I have never seen one with such a big bubble inside almost the size of a regular sized marble. Was it done on purpose or just tha'ts the way it came out.

Thanks to anyone that provides information

Bruce

I'm not sure why the pictures look flat on this website, hopefully they are good enough

Not to be a downer, but it's a modern machine made marble. Imported probably by Mega from asia or Vacor from Mexico. If you like it, that's all that matters!

alittle bit of a downer but I still like it, How can you tell it's machine made?

I didn't know machines made the marbles with air bubbles in them also the marble looks like it has the rough patch where the glass would have been broken off after being blown.

The old handmade marbles have pontils on both poles.

Handmade marbles have one or more pontils or shear marks. The wrinkles on yours is called a cold roll. It is from the glass not being quite hot enough to smooth over as it rolls down the rollers. It leaves wrinkles like that. Bubbles in machine made marbles are very very common.
