Large bullet and brass item ID

Found these items last week. The bullet seems very large for a rifle and the other item i have no idea! SOLVED!!

measure bullet dia in thousands of inch ,,,it looks like a 50 cal slug to me but that is a guess

Bullet is .50bmg, the other thing... part of a spur maybe?

Just looking it looks like a .50 Cal BMG -- Browning Machine Gun -- Ma duce as today's soldiers call it. The other thing has me stumped, but someone will probably know.
