Is that what this is? I've seen plenty but none this large. Found in a box of junk at an estate sale.

Looks like a rodent tooth to me, prehistoric?

I don't think its a boar's tusk. Maybe goat horn? A tusk would be more worn where it came into contact with the upper jaw.

Goat horns would have a bone core and be very hollow otherwise - like sheep and cows.

What else has large teeth like that ?

The hippo idea is looking good. It's partially hollow, about halfway. Weighs 7.6 ounces. Looks like the dark end has been "sawed" off almost. More pics-

edit- after looking around some more, I believe this is a hippo incisor.

Not sawn - worn down from rubbing the other teeth. Tedyoh was on the right track because - like a squirrel or beaver - they keep growing for life.

I didn't say "not hollow" at all, I said not "very" hollow like horn. You never hear about anyone having a powdertusk with their flintlock.
