Hi everyone my name is Mike and i am new to the metal detecting world. Is my landstar a good beginners unit to use?

Not familiar with the landstar, is that the name,brand or what? Remember any detector should find metal,coins jewelry no matter how cheap they are. For the most part they just alert you that something metallic is under the ground and you dig it up. I started with a cheap bountyhuntrr(about $100) it beeps I dig, found a lot of clad(coins lost and discovered) founfd fake jewelry, real jewelry, all kinds of stuff. Now I have an Ace 350 pretty good model, I find less. My targets are more refined and im more selective, unfortunately I pass up a lot of stuff. Every now and then I will go back to the bounty hunter to get my fix of finding things even if they are small. So you see just because it costs more, makes more sounds and looks cool does not necissarily make it better. Now take your machine and get out and go hunting,have fun,breathe the air, enjoy yourself. This hobby may not make you rich but there are many other benefits,and the best way to find out about your machine is by use. Start in the playgrounds,beach,yard,fair grounds,flea market,fruit stand,anywherre people congrgate or used to. Go enjoy yourself, let us know how it goes, Happy hunting(HH)
