I decided to go hunting the local lake swimming area after the 4th... I figured I might pick up some quick change and if I was luck maybe some jewelry... well I think the pictures tell the story...

Re: SOMEONE TELL ME THATS NOT A G!!! PLEASE!!!

I have never seen anything like that before but I googled it and another treasurenet forum post said it could be filled gold, another thread said it meant solid gold, at first glance I thought it meant fools gold. The thread I seen that it was solid gold someone mentioned that they were on the phone with Zales and the person there said it was solid. Not sure though. Nice find though.

Its a fancy way to inscribe a G so I still have hope... but its easy to loose... just looking at it...

It's real. The fancy "G" is a makers mark. I forget the name... but I've seen it before. Nevertheless, you got gold :icon_thumleft:

Re: Lake finds... Someone Tell me Thats not a G!!! PLEASE!!!

Woo hoo! Thank you all for confirming it! It's my first gold ring in over a year... I just don't go to places where stuff like this is lost... I find silver jewelry/rings just not gold... I still think silver is prettier...

On my v3i this rang up as a solid +19 vdi just like a nickel does... So that's what I thought I had...

Re: Lake finds... Someone Tell me Thats not a G!!! PLEASE!!!

Grats on your first ring. mine was costume jewelry. We have Lake Cumberland here and I wanted to drive down there to detect since the water is lowered so they can do some work on the dam but everything I read said you cant, well you can you just cant keep anything man made or dig but if you walk on the beach and find something you can keep it as long as you dont dig. I could have misunderstood it but I also heard rumors of people getting fined and threatened jail time also. Never knew one person who was actually fined or sent to jail.

I know of an area where my friend said his family house boat neighbor was out for the holidays with them one weekend several years ago and their ring worth 10k fell off the wifes finger and into the water right next to their boat slip. Never to be recovered. Would be nice to find it and return it to them and maybe get a good fishing trip every now and then.

Happy Hunting.

Re: Lake finds... Someone Tell me Thats not a G!!! PLEASE!!!

:hello:

Great set of finds, Gold is Gold and you won't have to buy fishing sinkers for a while :icon_thumleft: As for croping your pictures, check your Camera picture settings, you should be able to alter the recorded pixels, 640x480 is a good setting :icon_thumleft:
