Anyone have any experience with the Cummins Allison Jetsort 6000 series? The only banks in my town with coin sorters use this model. Seems pretty accurate although I generally have one dime count as a penny.

I've tried looking online for more info on them to learn about how they handle rejects. Anyone know if they have a reject tube like the TD Penny Arcades?

I haven't dumped at a bank that uses the Cummins, but if it only counts 1 dime as a penny then you should consider yourself lucky! The Penny arcades generally count at least 6-10 per $1000 as pennies. Worst one for me was when it counted 156 dimes as pennies.

I second that one, once penny arcade counted 2067 dimes as pennies, and my box of dimes turned out to be $63.97. The bank resolved the problem in 2 weeks. Was a bummer. Have not done any dimes since.

I have 2 branches of the same bank near me that have Cummins jetsort counters (not sure of the model number). To say they are lightning fast is worse than an understatement. They do not have a return tray of any kind. Here is what they look like.

The jetsorts do have a "reject tray" of sorts. On the picture you can see a black handle, there should be a button on it you can press to pop it up, when you do the top of the counter comes off, under the piece that comes off should be the magnet, then there should be a metal circle, at the bottom of the circle in the center should be a latch, you can undo it and it should rise on its own, then you can get to all of the stuff that is stuck in the sorter, they are generally pretty accurate and generally there aren't much that gets caught in there except for trash, but I believe Ikes will rattle in there most of the time. It makes a terrible squeaking sound if anything is caught like bent change and stuff so most tellers will check it so it won't have much most of the time. But magnets are always good.

We have this machine in most of my banks.
I have been told (because they won't let me touch it) that the haves chute makes an almost 90 degree bend. So if it is fed too fast it plugs.

A firm bump from a fist upon the half feed tube unplugs it usually.
This little number is responsible for a number of big losses in tally after the clueless tellers end up taking the thing apart numerous times.

Oh, yeah, wonderful machine....

Looks like a machine out of the late 1970's - good goobly goop!

Not even sure what my dump bank uses. As they take my bag of coins and it is behind closed doors. One bank it is in a room with windows but it is off to the side of the teller windows. Other one it is behind a door and no visibility inside.

Finally got to see the inside of this one. I missed the magnet as the teller was opening it at that point. Some joker had dumped his golf bag along with his change. When I turned it on I could hear and see things rattling around on the sorter. Turned out to be three broken tees, and a metal divot replace. Was able to grab about $.15 in loose mangled clad but nothing too interesting.
